Made A Way

God made a way and I honor him for his faithfulness & unfailingly love. Yesterday my daughter & I were at the financial aid office. She was $5K+ deficit in her tution and we were going to get a loan. We had been contending all year for a position on campus for her and was seeking $2-$3K plus work study. Yesterday while seated in front of the financial aid rep she received a call staying she received the position and a FULL Scholarship!! Yes, God made a way!! I am humbled by his timing. In the midst of applying for a loan… the call comes!! I was not expecting a full ride… but God can do exceedingly, abundantly all we can ask or think! So today, in the midst of your test and circumstances, I want to encourage you to keep the FAITH!! Take God at his word. Never seen the righteous forsaken or his seed begging bread! Thank You Father for making a way!! I Love You!!

Running on Empty

I am very private & do not like to share me but this morning I sensed the Holy Spirit promoting or more like pressing me to share. “Put them in remembrance of what I’ve done for them & who I am.” So I want to remind you that God still performs miracles and he still answers prayers!

When I was 17 I was shot in the face at very close range with 38. I recall the doctors speaking over me negatively & I made a decision that day to receive my healing. My tounge was split open, I had a trachea, could not eat or speak but by faith I expected God to heal me & he did. I still have fragments in my body but they rarely affect me now.

On August 26, 2003 I was traveling eastbound on I-90 heading to Elkhart, my new home, where I had only lived 5 days.  That day driving conditions were not the best. My car hydoplaned, went across the median and I was hit by an oncoming semitruck. My car was totalled, I had can goods in my trunk that were squished together but inside my car things were peaceful. I had clothes that were still folded, my daughter & I were protected. Outside things were a mess, both the semitruck and my car had to be towed away but we were well. I had a scare on my ankle as a reminder of God protecting me but that’s all.

Last night the fuel light came on & read 39 miles to empty but I ignored it. Today, June 19, 2016, I arose early to drive home from Crown Point to honor my husband for Father’s Day & forgot to put gas in my vehicle. I proceeded to the Toll Road to come home. When I made it to the toll both in Elkhart I glanced at the fuel gauge & it read 0 miles to empty. Now let’s do simple math from Portage to Elkhart it’s 70 miles, I only had 39…

I have been broken in this season & running on empty. I have been ready to call it quits, & just do me but I couldn’t… In the midst of my brokenness & mess his Grace is still sufficient!!

Lord thank you for healing me, protecting me & preserving me. He longs to do the same for you. Give him your vessel & watch him overflow it.

Stay in the fire

God is doing a new thing. He is enlarging the tent of our dwelling. He is making room for his presence to dwell. We have gotten to comfortable so he is forcing us out into his harvest to produce more fruit! If you are in an uncomfortable place, you are right where God desires you to be. Stay in the fire and let him refine you! For behold, he is doing a new thing!

Toss the script and Live

I want to acquaint you with the account of Tamar. Tamar was a well respected lady. In fact Judah, Israel’s son, prearranged a marriage for Tamar and his oldest son Er. After being married for only a short time God killed her husband Er because he was wicked. Tamar then married his brother who also died leaving Tamar alone. Tamar was a two time widow. She was childless, empty and alone yet held on to a promise from her Father in law. To her disappointment Judah had no intention of fulfilling  his word…but Tamar was tenacious! She desperately desired to give birth and by any means she sought to make it happen. What are you trying to give birth to? Tamar got pregnant in an unusual way but God used it still for his glory!! The scripture says she played the harlot but that is not who she was!!! That’s not who you are either. Stop playing a script and be all that God has called you to be.

Void places

When you are hungry, I mean starved you’ll find yourself eating anything. Such was the case with the prodigal son. All to often we look at his account and don’t take note of our own rebellious or selfish ways… Maybe you’ve not experienced physical starvation. Most of us have not to the point that we eat with the pigs but most of us have experienced some area of starvation in our lives. What void are you desperately trying to fill? The prodigal son longed for acceptance and approval but his approach was wrong. What are you doing to fill the void areas in you life? Let’s take our example from the prodigal son and go to the Father’s house.

God’s Grace

Sometimes we look at our lives and wonder, How in the world did I end up here? Yes, I too have that same confession. I have felt incompetent, devalued, undervalued, looked past/over and even felt like a failure and in those times I didn’t always make the best decisions but I truly thank God for his word on today!! Paul puts it like this in Romans 5:20 NLT, God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant. The truth is I have tried to live my life in a way that pleases God, living according to the law but I recognize the law condemns us, holds us hostage and tempts us to be critical, harsh, and even unloving. Yea this sounds like today’s church culture!! I am not saying have a field day with sin. On the contrary, but when you fall to get up, dust yourself off, forgive yourself and RECEIVE the gift of GRACE!! Oh Lord, I stand today to say Thank You for your Grace!!

Greater Than This

2 Corinthians 4:17-18 NLT conveys this truth, “For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.” We are so much bigger than our present trials!! You may be going through but find the strength to see beyond the pain. This is only a test! Who you are becoming will far outlast your current situation.

Single Eye Focus

I wear glasses and have a yearly exam for my eyes so I can see clearly. Over the years my prescription has changed so I can’t always go off the previous lenses for my eyes. I have to go the the physician to keep seeing clearly. The same should be true of our spiritual lives. Psalms 27:4 CEV states, “I ask only one thing, Lord: Let me live in your house every day of my life to see how wonderful you are and to pray in your temple.” As the scales are removed from our eyes our agenda and main purpose should be to see him!! And did you know if you commit to doing this daily there are benefits! We are promised safety and protection from harm, comfort, nurturing and care as children. I hope you would consider today and everyday to allow Jesus to be your single focus.

Activate Your Weapons

I have a speaking engagement this  weekend so I’ve been concecrating myself in God with prayer, some fasting but especially in the word. Each region has its own set of principalities so I sent the word to bind up the enemy before my arrival. As I was leaving home I said to myself, let me get my sword… In case you aren’t aware I am speaking of my bible. Upon arrival at the airport like everyone else I go through the security scan and the TSA pulls me aside to further investigate my bag. The man asks, “Do you have a knife or any sharp objects in this bag?” My response… NO sir. He then goes through my bag pulls my bible out and says this is what it is. He precedes to open my bible case and thoroughly examines my bible! I now understand!! Ofcourse they put my bible away dumbfounded but Ephesians 6:17 NLT says “And take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Remember the weapons of your warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling Down of strongholds. Today is a good day to Activate your weapons!

Taking Off the Mask

I believe we are all hiding behind someone or something. Think about it. What is it you are hiding behind? An abusive relationship, ministry, parenting, drugs, alcohol, the way you dress up or wear your hair, your education or maybe even finances. What are you covering up or WHO are you covering up? The little boy who was constantly overlooked, put down or the little girl who was abused, left alone, etc… We can’t substitute people or things to do what only God can. Only God can heal us. Only he can mend our brokenness!! Open your heart today and receive healing for your soul so you can be whom God predestined you to be!
